Bio

Payton Taylor began playing drums around the age of 12. She grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts. She attended Berklee College of Music on a full tuition scholarship and graduated with honors in 2024. Since attending Berklee, Payton has established goals of being a musical director/drummer for a touring artist. Payton has played regularly for various and diverse artists in Boston as well as Jubilee Christian Church. In her hometown, Dallas, Texas, she formed the Payton Taylor Project. Her Project plays an array of genres including jazz, fusion and hip hop. They play frequently in Dallas and had a weekly residency at The Free Man in 2022. She now resides in Los Angeles, California and is working professionally drummer and arranger/programmer.
